There’s a calmer way to run a design practice.
You don’t need more hustle, more apps, or more pressure.
You need a clear path — and support that adapts to your life.
Designer Sanity helps interior designers do their best work with clarity, confidence, and calm — without burning out.
Start with "The Path out of Chaos" checklist for designersMost designers aren't struggling because they lack talent.Â
They’re struggling because:
-
Projects feel reactive instead of planned
-
Clients and GCs constantly interrupt their flow
-
Their calendar doesn’t reflect real capacity
-
Business decisions live in their head instead of on paper
-
Even when things are “going well,” they feel exhausted
If that sounds familiar, you’re not broken.
You’re just missing a structure that supports the way you actually work, whether you’re running your own studio or working inside one.
Hi, I’m Betsy Brandenburg.
For the first 13 years of running my successful interior design business it looked great on the outside — and felt like chaos on the inside.
I wasn’t disorganized because I didn’t care.
I was disorganized because no one ever taught me how to manage real design projects — multiple clients, overlapping timelines, demanding contractors, and a brain that holds everything.
I tried every tool. Every app. Every “productivity fix.”
What finally changed everything was one simple step: creating a clear plan I could actually follow.
That first Design Roadmap became the domino that changed my business — and eventually became the foundation of Designer Sanity.
You don’t need to do more.
You need a path.
When designers know what they’re working on — and when, stress goes down, trust goes up, and creativity comes back online.
That kind of clarity doesn’t come from willpower.
It comes from a framework designed for real projects, real people, and real lives.
The Designer Sanity Framework
Designer Sanity is the framework that holds everything together.
Inside Designer Sanity there are two paths:
-
The Process Path — how your work gets planned and paced
-
The Technical Mastery Path — how your technical confidence deepens
You choose where to begin, how deeply to engage, and when to shift focus.
Some seasons are about energetic progress.
Some seasons are about gentle maintenance.
Both count — and both are supported.
Designer Sanity brings together:
-
Practical systems for projects, time, and communication
-
Clear tools and templates that actually get used
-
Support that helps you integrate — not overwhelm
It’s designed to help designers work with clarity and confidence —
without rushing, burning out, or losing the joy of design.
Inside Designer Sanity, there are two active paths.
The Process Path
Clarity, structure, and calm — guided by Betsy Brandenburg
This is the foundation.
The Process Path teaches designers how to plan and lead their work with confidence — using a simple framework called the Design Roadmap.
Inside the Process Path, you’ll learn how to:
-
Plan projects clearly from start to finish
-
Know exactly what to work on each week
-
Reduce firefighting and last-minute urgency
-
Build trust with clients, GCs, and teams
-
Design a business that supports your life
You can walk the Process Path in two ways:
-
Accelerated — through 1:1 coaching with Betsy
-
Gentle Support + Maintenance— through the Design Roadmap Course with ongoing support inside Designer Sanity Circle
The Technical Mastery Path
Precision, confidence, and build-ready execution — with Robin Rigby Fisher
This path is designed for designers who want to feel more confident and capable on the technical side of their work.
Guided by Robin Rigby Fisher, you’ll strengthen the technical skills that support smoother projects, clearer communication, and better outcomes in the field.

Who This Is For (and Not For)
This is for you if:
Â
-
You’re a residential interior designer (design/build, K&B, remodeling, new construction, furnishings)
-
You’re new, mid-career, or experienced and want your work to feel sustainable
-
You’re an employee designer who wants clarity and confidence managing projects
-
You’re a studio or design/build owner optimizing how design projects actually run
-
You want a clearer way to work — without burning out
Â
Â
This is NOT for you if:
Â
-
You want a magic fix with no effort
-
You prefer working without structure
-
You’re not open to small, steady changes
-
You want a rigid, one-size-fits-all system

A Simple First Step
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you don’t need to overhaul your business or commit to anything yet.
Sometimes, what helps most is simply seeing the correct steps to take — the ones that turn chaos into calm.
The Path Out of Chaos is a free, one-page checklist that shows you:
-
Why brain-dumping and giant to-do lists make things worse
-
Why starting with the right container changes everything
-
The simple order that helps designers regain clarity and calm
It’s not a system to “keep up with.”
It’s a way to understand what actually works — before you decide what to do next.
I care deeply about this work because I know the cost of chaos.
Years of constant stress took a toll on my health — something I now know could have been prevented if I’d been shown the right first step sooner.
Designers should not have to sacrifice their health, creativity, or joy to be successful.
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
If you’re curious where you are on the Process Path — and what kind of support would feel most helpful right now — let’s talk.
Discovery calls are calm, conversational, and clarity-focused.
