Are you struggling to feel in control of your projects?

I know that running beautiful, profitable design projects is harder than it looks.

You need creativity. You need technical precision. You need client communication tools. You need profitability.

And at the same time, you’re trying to manage timelines, contractors, materials, scope creep, team members — and somehow keep everything in your head.

I feel you. I’ve been where you are.

I know what it’s like to wake up at 2am remembering something you forgot to send. I know what it’s like to feel constantly behind — even when you’re technically “successful.” I know what it’s like to carry every detail mentally because no one ever taught you how to structure the whole thing.

And I’m guessing you might be feeling something like this:

✔ You feel capable — but scattered.
✔ You’re constantly reacting instead of leading.
âś” You redo schedules over and over because nothing feels solid.
✔ You wish you had a clear, repeatable process — but don’t know how to build one.
✔ You’re tired of holding the entire project in your head.
✔ You want calm… not more hustle.

You don’t need more ideas. You don’t need another marketing tactic. You don’t need to “work harder.”

You need a clear roadmap.

What You Actually Need

You don’t need another productivity hack.

You don’t need a new app. You don’t need to “try harder.”

You simply need a clear way to know:

  • What you are going to do
  • When you are going to do it
  • How much it will cost

The Design Roadmap System gives you that, simply, with:

âś“ A step-by-step structure for mapping every phase of your design process
âś“ A visual project roadmap that gets everything out of your head and onto paper
✓ A repeatable framework you can use for every project — not just the one you’re in
âś“ A planning rhythm that supports calm leadership instead of reactive scrambling

This is how you move from carrying projects… to calmly directing them.

Because when you don’t have a roadmap? You stay in reaction mode. You keep reinventing your schedule. You overthink timelines. You second-guess pricing. You feel busy — but not grounded.

But when you do have one? You make decisions faster. You communicate clearly. You plan proactively. You feel steady — even when projects get complex.

This isn’t about becoming more productive. It’s about becoming more certain.

Why this Works

The Design Roadmap is not:

  • A rigid step-by-step system you must follow perfectly or everything falls apart
  • A daily task list or project management app
  • Yet another tech platform you have to subscribe to, learn and maintain
  • A plan you make once and never touch again

The Design Roadmap is:

  • A high-level, easy-to-understand milestone-based view of each project
  • Flexible enough to adjust as real life happens
  • Easy to update — because it’s meant to be used in real life
  • Clear enough to replace constant explanations and interruptions - it speaks for you so clients understand and you can focus.

The Result?

Instead of reacting to whoever is loudest, you follow this week’s plan — already decided, already aligned.

That’s where calm comes from.

A Quick Origin Story

I didn’t set out to invent the Design Roadmap.

About 13 years into running my design practice, I created a simple roadmap for a whole-house project — and for the first time ever, I came in on time, on budget, and without stress.

Only later did I realize why.

That project accidentally included all three sides of the triangle:

  1. A complete Task List
  2. Realistic Time Estimates
  3. Clear Target Dates

Once I started using this approach consistently, something unexpected happened:

Most of the problems in my business (and the ones I hear from designers over and over) — client confusion, GC pressure, team bottlenecks, burnout — simply stopped showing up.

Not because I worked harder.

Because the plan did.

Two Ways to Learn the Design Roadmap System

There is one system — but two ways to move through it, depending on how much support you want.

Gentle Support + Maintenance

Design Roadmap Course + Designer Sanity Circle

This is great way to walk the Process Path if you're confidently self-directed.

This path includes:

  • The Design Roadmap Course — a self-paced course that teaches you how to create and use your Design Roadmap

Designer Sanity Circle provides:

  • Ongoing guidance as you use the system in real projects

  • Group support, coworking, and shared language with other designers
